Haile Nayzgi

Haile Nayzgi is an Eritrean pastor, husband, father of four, and prisoner for his faith. One of the first prisoners Christian Advocacy Now groups prayed for and wrote to, he has languished in Eritrea's notoriously harsh prisons since May 2004. Previously Haile was the head of Eritrea's Full Gospel Church, a network of approximately 150 house churches, and he was also an accountant for the World Evangelical Alliance. His family has not seen him since August 2004, when they attempted to visit him and were told he had been relocated. Because of the grave danger they themselves were in, his family fled Eritrea but were separated along the way. Now his wife is in Khartoum, Sudan, but his sons were only able to reach the Sudan-Eritrea border due to the threat of human traffickers.
