June 2015 Action Item
Cheng Jie, Li Jiatao, and Huang Quirui, members of the Liangren house church in China were arrested and sentenced to two years in prison for "illegally" making a profit from publishing kindergarten curriculum. Although the Hualin Foreign Language Experimental Kindergarten charged students only the cost of printing the books, and they taught them simply about Christian character without overtly teaching about Christ, the leaders were arrested and treated like criminals. Authorities have had previous disputes with the church and school because they are teaching Christianity to youth. As a result of the arrests, the kindergarten had to close down. Cheng Jie is married to a pastor and has two young children. Li Jiatao has two children and her husband is a missionary pastor who was out of town when police smashed through her door to arrest her. Huang Quirui is a house church elder who believes that this suffering molds him into God's instrument, but he is anxious to get back to his congregation. Please send them words of encouragement and Scripture verses!
