May 2019 Action Item
Iranian human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh has received one of the harshest sentences in recent years for her courageous work advocating for the rights of women and girls in Iran. For protesting Iran’s mandatory hijab laws, she was just sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes. This outrageous and unjust sentence is a very discouraging development in Iran’s repressive regime. Write today to Iran’s Supreme leader to express your dismay at this miscarriage of justice and call for her immediate and unconditional release.
