January 2021 Action
Acola Christine is a young widow raising four children. When her father died, he willed his property on which the family grew crops to support themselves to his daughter. A neighbor, seeing the opportunity to enrich himself, destroyed what she planted, stole her livestock and became increasingly violent against her and told her and her children to vacate the property. He started breaking the walls of her hut. When Christine ran outside, she was beaten. The authorities came and she was falsely accused and put in prison. She now awaits trial, but with Covid, the legal process is agonizingly slow. International Justice MIssion is helping to fight for her land and supporting her children.
Write a note to encourage her. Notes may be emailed to: pjensen@ijm.org. In the subject line insert: For Acola Christine. The email will be forwarded to the social worker assigned to Christine, who will pass the encouragement on to her..
