March 2015 Action Item

Su Changlan, an activist in southern China defending women’s rights and domestic violence, was arrested in October after she posted comments online in support of the prodemocracy protests in Hong Kong. Shortly after, Chen Qitang, her friend and legal advisor who is petitioning for her release, was also arrested. In February her husband and brother, Chen Dequan and Su Shangwei, applied for permission to visit her while carrying a sign stating that she is innocent and were both subsequently put in prison. All four citizens have not had access to a lawyer.
Write to prison authorities in China to release Su Changlan, Chen Dequan, Su Shangwei and Chen Qitang who were all exercising the basic human right of freedom of speech.
